When it comes to dropshipping, both Spocket and Zendrop are two of the better-known apps merchants can use to easily source products, add them to their stores, and automate order fulfillment.

Based on what I’ve seen in the dropshipping market, both of these companies have a similar reputation.

They have a similar rating on Trustpilot (Spocket has 4.8 stars compared to Zendrop’s 4.6). Plus, they offer similar features and product options.

So, how do you make the right choice? I put both solutions to the test, and created this comparison guide to help guide you towards the ideal dropshipping app.

Quick Verdict, Pros and Cons

Overall, I think Spocket is the slightly better dropshipping app for a few reasons. First, it offers a wider range of product categories, better filtering tools, and more integrations with external tools.

It also has some more useful features, like the ability to “bulk upload” products to your store.

Zendrop is the slightly cheaper solution in terms of subscription prices, but its product costs and high shipping fees could still have an impact on your profit margins.

Spocket vs Zendrop: The Key Features

Spocket and Zendrop are both convenient dropshipping applications that make it easy to find products you can sell via ecommerce platforms like Shopify and WooCommerce.

They both offer access to a vast catalog of products, including items form US suppliers, and promise fast shipping times for certain regions. Both solutions also include powerful tools for automating workflows.

Spocket and Zendrop are both intuitive and user-friendly tools, with decent reputations among merchants, however, Spocket seems to be the slightly more advanced option, with more integration options, a larger catalog, and useful filtering capabilities.

Product Options and Suppliers

Let’s start by looking at the product catalogs available from both platforms.

First, Zendrop offers access to an extensive range of products sourced from a global network of suppliers.

There are over 500,000 unique products to choose from, as well as options specifically from vendors in the US.

You can filter through products based on category (such as beauty), or shipping location, and you get the added benefit of knowing all of Zendrop’s suppliers have been pre-vetted based on product quality, overall performance, and shipping times.

However, I have found that even with the vetting process, product quality can vary depending on your chosen manufacturer.

Speaking of suppliers, you can’t actually find too much information about who you’re working with on Zendrop’s platform, beyond which country they’re located in.

Spocket also offers a huge range of products to choose from, separated into various categories like home décor and fashion.

What really makes Spocket stand out is how easy it is to filter through items based on shipping origin, prices, and other factors.

Plus, you don’t have to connect Spocket to an ecommerce platform before you can browse through the catalog, like you do with Zendrop.

You can even pinpoint “bestseller” products on Spocket instantly. One major selling point of Spocket is that most of its suppliers are based in the EU and US, and you can access a lot of details about them, such as their average fulfillment time and order fulfillment success rate.

On certain paid plans, you can even communicate directly with suppliers – which you can’t do with Zendrop.

One extra point worth noting is that Zendrop does offer more branding options, like private labelling and custom packaging, whereas Spocket only offers branded invoicing.

Bulk Actions and Product Importing

Completing actions in bulk, and importing products quickly to your store are crucial features for any dropshipping app.

From a bulk actions perspective, Spocket definitely features more options. Zendrop allows you to manage inventory orders, fulfillment, and auto-fulfillment processes in bulk.

When you want to import products to your store the process is pretty straightforward.

You can add items to an “import” list, and then manually add each item to your website – although you can’t do this in bulk.

You can, however, make granular changes to product descriptions and pricing before you add them to your website, which is helpful.

Zendrop also has a built-in notification system for price changes, but there’s no automatic “stock update” option, which I think could be problematic for many store owners.

Spocket offers a wider range of bulk actions. For instance, you can bulk import from AliExpress, manage checkout orders and product publishing in bulk, and edit prices in groups too.

When you’re adding products to your store, you’ll be able to import multiple products form a list at once, which should save you a lot of time.

Plus, you’ll get real-time inventory updates and clear guidance on how to update your prices based on market changes. This is a great way to ensure you don’t miss out on profits.

AliExpress Orders and Integrations

AliExpress is one of the best platforms for sourcing dropshipping products, so it’s no surprise that both Spocket and Zendrop integrate directly with this platform.

However, once again, Spocket delivers a slightly better experience. Spocket seamlessly integrates with AliExpress, giving you access to innovative tools like the “AliScraper” so you can add items to your store in bulk.

Zendrop does support importing from AliExpress – but only if you’re on a paid plan (it’s not available on the free plan).

You also don’t get a way to automate the importation of AliExpress products, which means you’ll spend a lot more time actually filling out your catalog.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that Spocket integrates with a lot more platforms than Zendrop for omnichannel selling.

You can connect Spocket to popular ecommerce platforms like WooCommerce and Shopify, Square, Ecwid, and more, as well as marketplaces like Amazon and Ebay.

There’s even support for social commerce through connections with things like Facebook Shops.

Zendrop, on the other hand, does integrate with WooCommerce and Shopify, but there are fewer integrations overall.

You can’t integrate directly with additional marketplaces or social media platforms either, unless you use additional third-party apps with your ecommerce platform.

Order Fulfillment, Returns, and Refunds

Both Spocket and Zendrop promise fast shipping and fulfillment times. Usually, Spocket will deliver products within 2-5 business days from US and EU suppliers.

Zendrop’s fulfillment times are similar, although there is an option to upgrade to express shipping for an additional fee.

I found that even with express delivery, however, Zendrop’s fulfillment times (and the quality of the service) can vary drastically from one supplier to the next.

Plus, it’s worth noting that Zendrop’s return, and refund policy can be more frustrating. The company doesn’t actually require customers to return items, which makes it hard for you to recoup losses on damaged products.

Spocket is a little more seller friendly. It asks customers to share photo evidence of a damaged product within 15 days before issuing a refund.

The company also provides clear guidelines on how sellers should deal with returns and refunds, to keep issues to a minimum.

Ease of Use and Customer Support

As mentioned above, I think both Zendrop and Spocket are incredibly easy to use.

However, Spocket does have a slight edge, because it makes it easier to bulk import products, track supplier price updates, and integrate your system with additional tools.

In terms of customer support, Zendrop promises 24/7 guidance, but they’re not always particularly fast to respond to queries.

They do offer a wide range of self-help resources like guides and tutorials though, to help you make the most of the platform.

Spocket offers live chat and email support, and their customer service team has a much better reputation for being ultra-responsive and helpful.

Like Zendrop, Spocket also has a fantastic help center with FAQs and tutorials. Plus, there are social media pages you can follow, and forums packed with community members who can offer additional guidance.

Spocket vs Zendrop: Pricing Plans

Here’s where Zendrop might have an edge over Spocket in my opinion.

Spocket offers no free plan whatsoever – although there is a 14-day free trial available when you sign up for a plan.

Additionally, it’s worth noting there are no transaction fees on any plan either. Options include:

  • Starter: $39.99 per month: Access to 7 million+ products, multiple store support, AliExpress dropshipping, and 24/7 chat and email support.
  • Pro: $59.99 per month: All of the features of Starter, plus 250 unique products, 25 premium products, supplier chat, VIP chat and email support, and branded invoicing.
  • Empire: $99.99 per month: All the features of Pro, plus unlimited orders, Ebay and Amazon dropshipping, 10,000 unique products, and 10,000 premium products.
  • Unicorn: $299.99 per month: The features of Empire, plus 25,000 unique and premium products, and a bulk checkout function.

Zendrop does offer a free plan, although you do need to connect your account to an ecommerce platform before you can view any products.

This plan includes access to over 1 million products, product sourcing, and industry-leading shipping times. However, you can only process up to 50 orders per month. The paid plans include:

  • Pro: $49 per month: All the features of the free plan, plus unlimited orders per month, automated fulfillment, custom branding, and access to US products.
  • Plus: $79 per month: The features of the Pro plan, plus live weekly coaching calls, Zendrop academy guidance, subscription boxes, product bundles, and chargeback management.

Zendrop also doesn’t charge transaction fees, but its product prices and shipping times can be a little higher than what you’ll see on Spocket.

Spocket vs Zendrop: The Verdict

Both Spocket and Zendrop are excellent in their own way for dropshipping merchants.

Zendrop is the slightly cheaper option (in terms of subscription plans), and it offers a few more unique options for branding and product bundling.

However, Spocket is the better option overall if you’re looking for a wider range of products, more automation options, and a superior range of integrations.

It might be more expensive, but I think Spocket is more likely to help you achieve higher profit margins in the long-term, particularly with it’s robust product filtering options, and commitment to delivering constant quality.
